Boulder, Colorado is nestled up against the foothills of the Rocky Mountains only 35 minutes from downtown Denver. With the Flatirons as a backdrop, the main campus of the University of Colorado in the heart of the city, and known for its outdoor enthusiasm, Boulder has long been a desirable place to live.
Boulder boasts a phenomenal outdoor playground, with over 30,000 acres of open space and 200 miles of public hiking and biking trails. Estes Park, home of the Stanley Hotel, and the Rocky Mountain National Park are less than an hour drive away. Also, many of Colorado’s best ski and snowboard resorts are only a two hour drive away.
However, the cultural and culinary delights of Boulder are not to be outdone. Boulder’s famous Pearl Street Mall is a thriving walking mall in downtown Boulder where eclectic local flavor and well-known national markets meet. There you will find a large assortment of restaurants (from among the 300 in Boulder) and breweries. And don’t pass up the opportunity to visit a local favorite - the birthplace of Celestial Seasonings Tea in north Boulder.

In addition to the University of Colorado, a nationally ranked research university, Boulder lays claim to the only accredited Buddhist-inspired liberal arts institution in the United States – Naropa University. Of course, the drive to succeed does not stop at the doorstep of these schools. Boulder residents have historically shown an entrepreneurial spirit, producing local goods that rapidly gain nation-wide interest. One of the most recent examples of this is Crocs shoes, which were born in Boulder and are now selling worldwide.
